Egypt and China has shortly signed mutual letters for the implementation of Egypt’s second remote sensing Earth observation satellite (SAT 2)، which the Chinese government is contributing toward with $45 million.
This came during the signing ceremony attended by Egyptian Minister of Investment and Free Zones، Higher Education and Scientific Research Minister، Chinese ambassador to Cairo Song Aiguo.
The Chinese grant hits $US 45 million for second remote sensing Earth observation satellite (SAT 2) built by the Russian RSC Energia، Sahar Nasr announced.
Nasr considered both projects as highly significant within the Egyptian 2030 vision، as they will provide numerous economic opportunities linking new urban cities with industrial zones and serve as research space projects.
China will contribute to developing the skills of Egyptians، especially in the field of scientific research and remote sensing، as China is considered a leading country in these fields. Beside “Egypt Sat 2″، China will contribute to development projects in the Suez Canal axis، Nasr pointed out.
