Red Sea governor Ahmed Abdullah has called on Chinese tourists to visit Red Sea resorts, pointing to a plan to lure more tourists from different parts of the world.
Abdullah said the number of Chinese tourists is on the rise, especially following a visit by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to China.
He expected more Chinese tourists to visit Egypt in the coming period.
“We want one percent of Chinese tourists every year,” Abdullah said, noting that more than 100 million Chinese tourists head for different destinations annually.
All Red Sea hotels offer guidance in Chinese language, the governor said, adding that staffers will be given courses to be able to speak Chinese in a bid to expand the use of this Sinitic language.
