Head of the National Media Authority (NMA) Hussein Zein participated on Sunday in the “Dubai Government Media Contact Forum”, organized by the Media Office of Dubai , as part of the summit of international governments held in Dubai under the auspices of Vice President, Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
Zein praised the organization of the forum which brings together the leaders of Arab media to exchange views and ideas on the regional and international developments in communication technology and means of keeping pace with this development in coordination and integration between the various Arab media bodies.
Zein also participated in the symposium held on the sidelines of the forum where he stressed the importance of the role of the media of the government, which is transparent and credible in the face of some sites that publish lies aiming to provoke misinformation.
Moreover, Zein said that the role of media of the government is a role of awareness and enlightenment working within the framework of professional and responsibility that aims at developing the citizen’s awareness of what is going on around him at the regional and international levels.
In addition, Zain stressed the importance of activating communication and integration between the media bodies in the Arab countries to keep abreast of recent developments in the field of media and to confront some media that aim to mislead for personal gain at the expense of professionalism and credibility.
