President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi held a meeting on Tuesday with Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli and Finance Minister Mohamed Maït, according to a statement by presidential spokesman Bassam Radi.
In the statement, Ambassador Bassam Radi said that during the meeting, President El-Sisi discussed the steps to develop and automate the tax department, besides the application of electronic collection mechanisms.
He also pointed to the procedures needed to apply electronic tax services in different fields and to the current government’s plan for the digital transformation of all transactions and government services.
President El-Sisi called for speeding up the implementation of the digital transformation in order to improve the financial performance of Egypt and to facilitate citizens’ benefits by accurate state revenues in line with optimal principles of governance and better management of state resources.
