President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi held on late Sunday an inspection tour at the Cairo Stadium to follow up the final arrangements for the African Cup of Nations on June 21, with the presence of the Prime Minister and Minister of Youth.
Presidential spokesman Ambassador Bassam Rady said that the tour aimed at reviewing all the preparations of the Cairo Stadium, which will witness the opening and closing ceremonies of the African Cup of Nations, as well as hosting a number of matches throughout the tournament.
The President also reviewed the development and efficiency activities carried out at the Cairo Stadium complex, which included all its components, including the facilities and equipment of the stadium, as well as the services and roads surrounding it.
The Spokesman explained that the President praised the efforts made during the last period by the concerned bodies and institutions regarding the development of sports facilities and stadiums for the African Nations Championship.
President El-Sisi expressed his confidence that the championship will be a positive impetus for Egyptian sports in general that comes in line with the development and modernization, which included sports infrastructure in a number of governorates according to the latest international standards.
