President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received on Monday Special representative of the president of Guinea-Bissau Ambassador Mamadu Sano at El-Etehadiya Presidential Palace.
Sano handed over a written message from President of Guinea-Bissau to President El-Sisi in which he expressed his appreciations towards Egypt’s leadership and people in addition to its pioneering role in the African continent.
During the meeting, the ambassador reviewed the latest political developments in his country، and the results of the legislative elections which took place last March.
For his part، President El-Sisi lauded the historic relations between the two countries since the liberation war in Guinea-Bissau and Egypt’s keenness to support the liberation movement until independence in 1973.
Moreover، the meeting addressed ways to enhance bilateral cooperation between both countries in various fields.
In addition the talks tackled the Egyptian efforts within the framework of its current presidency of the African Union (AU).
