President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi stressed on Thursday that Egypt is looking forward to continue cooperation with Russia to establish the Dabaa nuclear power plant in accordance with the highest international standards, both at the technical and nuclear safety as well as security levels.
The President’s statement came during a meeting with the Director General of the RosAtom Company Alexey Likhachev in the presence of the Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy and Chairman of the Nuclear Power Plants Authority Amgad el-Wakil, in addition to a number of officials of the Russian company.
Presidential spokesman Ambassador Bassam Rady said that the meeting comes within the framework of the ongoing efforts to establish the nuclear power plant in Dabaa with the Russian side.
For his part, the President of the Russian Company expressed his appreciation for the ongoing cooperation with Egypt in the field of establishing the nuclear power plant in Dabaa, weighing the strength of the historical relations between Egypt and Russia.
He also stressed the company’s keenness to facilitate its best potential and exert its best efforts to implement the project with the best standards.
