The United Nations announced that President Abdel Fattah El Sisi will take part in the Climate Action Summit due to be held on Monday in New York on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly meetings.
During the summit, the President will review the vision of Egypt, Africa and developing nations vis-a-vis climate change which poses grave threat to the whole world.
President El-Sisi’s visit to New York is important in terms of expounding Egypt’s stance regarding Middle East issues.
The visit is the sixth in a row by President El-Sisi to the UNGA as he is keen on regular participation in the meetings which tackle international community and international peace and security issues, education, sustainable development and health as well as combating poverty, terrorism and extremism , the report pointed out.
This UNGA session deals with disarmament, gender equality and settling outstanding conflicts and crises; all of which are issues of concern to Egypt, the Arab world and Africa, it said.
