President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met on Thursday with Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly and Minister of Electricity Mohamed Shaker as well as Head of the Nuclear Power Plants Authority Dr. Amgad el-Wakeel.
Presidential spokesperson Ambassador Bassam Rady said that the meeting dealt with the strategy of the Nuclear Stations Authority and its mechanization efforts, as well as steps to prepare and qualify human cadres at the Technical School of Nuclear Energy Technology.
The meeting also reviewed the positive results of the recent visit of the IAEA team of experts to review the development of infrastructure for the nuclear energy program in Egypt.
Within the framework of the country’s future projects in the nuclear sector, the President directed the necessity of ensuring the highest standards of nuclear safety and security in accordance with international rules in this regard.
Moreover, the head of the state stressing on the importance of nuclear energy as a future field to contribute to electricity generation in Egypt in a manner that supports the economic and social development plans of the country and current and future needs.
