The President of Cairo University; Dr. Mohamed Othman El-Khasht, received a report about all the efforts exerted by the scientific committee in charge of finding a vaccine or treatment for the Coronavirus.
According to the report, scientists in Cairo University provide about 32% of Egypt’s scientific researches on coronavirus.
A unique therapeutic protocol is currently being implemented, in addition to the repetition of some international experiments, which have not been effective yet after months of false hopes for some of vaccines.
The scholars of the scientific committee presented several projects, whether for the immunological tests for Covid-19 patients or the immunological tests for the members of the medical team, or for specifying the genetic code of viruses in Egypt and what might happen to them.
Dr. Mohamed Othman El-Khasht, President of Cairo University, received the report from Dr. Omnia Mahmoud Khalil, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy and head of the main research team at Cairo University on what has been accomplished by all scientific research teams to combat coronavirus (Covid 19), within the framework of Cairo University’s strategy to make scientific research more useful to serve the community.
The report pointed out that the university applied a therapeutic protocol in-order to test it depending on two drugs available in the market at a low cost, and this protocol is internationally unique by combining work as an anti-virus and as a regulator of the human immunity, and they also have no side effects.
The report was approved and encouraged by the President of Cairo University, all scientists in faculties of the university, whether in medical, pharmaceutical, scientific, computer or engineering sections, to submit projects.
Meanwhile, more than 28 projects are being judged at the same time, and the final number of winning projects will be selected and funded by more than 5 million pounds.
