Minister of State for Information Osama Haikal witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of State for Information and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF).
Heikal said that this partnership focuses on enhancing the use of communication tools, encouraging media participation to achieve further promotion and support for children’s rights in Egypt in addition to continuing efforts to enable children and protect them from violence, exploitation and abuse with the help of various media and communication platforms.
It is expected that the memo which was falls into effect for five years.
For his part, UNICEF Representative in Egypt Bruno Maes said during the signing ceremony of the agreement that “UNICEF is committed to supporting the efforts of the Egyptian government to promote children’s rights”.
“With the increasing demand for the media, especially during the outbreak of the coronavirus, it is important that we deal with the possibilities available through the media to face the current challenges”, he added.
