Egypt condemned on Tuesday “in the strongest terms” the recent brutal attack in the Afghan capital, Kabul, which claimed the lives of two women judges working for the Supreme Court, according to an official statement by the foreign ministry on Tuesday.
Egypt extended its sincere condolences to the Republic of Afghanistan and the families of the victims.
Cairo expressed solidarity with Afghanistan, stressing its full support to Kabul in confronting the recent series of brutal attacks in the country and in confronting all forms of violence, extremism and terrorism.
Gunmen on motorbikes shot dead Zakia Herawi and a colleague named Qadria on Sunday, while they were on their way to the Supreme Court, where 200 women judges are working.
According to AFP, the current wave of assassinations started in September around the time the government launched peace talks with the Taliban.
