President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met on Monday with a group of candidates to serve as ambassadors of Egypt abroad, with the presence of Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry.
At the beginning of the meeting, the President referred to the importance of the role played by Egyptian diplomacy as the facade that highlights the civilized image of Egypt and defends the interests of the homeland abroad.
He expressed confidence in the ability of Egyptian diplomats to represent Egypt in a dignified manner that reflects its long history and aspirations of its people towards a better future.
During the meeting, President El-Sisi reviewed the Egyptian foreign policy principles, stressing in this regard the importance of continuing work on developing balanced relations between Egypt and various countries of the world, as well as continuing to strengthen their relations with the traditional and emerging international powers, in addition to its active regional role.
The head of the state also stressed the importance of continuing efforts to consolidate the pillars of Egypt, to maintain stability, and continue to work hard with the international community to mobilize efforts so as to confront terrorism at all levels in order to eliminate this unprecedented threat to the entire world, in addition to restoring security and stability in the Middle East and to end the human suffering.
The President also confirmed on the importance of conveying the real picture of what is going on in Egypt of implementing the program of sustainable economic growth, which aims to achieve comprehensive development, and to attract more new foreign investments, especially in light of what is being accomplished in Egypt of giant projects that provide many investment opportunities.
El-Sisi called upon the ambassadors to work continuously to find unconventional solutions to the challenges facing Egypt, stressing that any proposed solutions should take into account the real circumstances of Egypt and its development requirements.
The President asserted the importance of the role played by the Egyptian missions in providing consular services to members of the Egyptian communities abroad, aiming at giving more attention to solving the problems of Egyptian citizens abroad and linking them to their motherland.
During the meeting, the President stressed the importance of continuing work to develop the performance of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs within the framework of the comprehensive institutional development of the various organs and institutions of the State.
He pointed out the importance of continuous development of the selection, qualification and evaluation processes of the diplomatic corps, adding to the high performance of Egyptian diplomacy abroad.
For their part, the ambassadors expressed their appreciation for the attention given by the political leadership to the role and functions of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the President’s keenness to inform them directly about the priorities of national action in the next phase.
