Serie A club Sampdoria and Belgium’s Genk are both interested in acquiring the services of Zamalek keeper Ahmed El-Shennawi, according to Italian reports.
Calciomercato.com said that sixth-placed Sampdoria are interested in bolstering their goalkeeping position by signing international keeper El-Shennawi from Zamalek for a fee of 2 million euros.
The Italian website indicated also that the 26-year-old keeper is on the radar of Genk, who are currently the eighth of the Belgian league standings.
Egyptian reports, however, said that neither club have officially approached Zamalek for El-Shennawi, who has still two years remaining on his contract.
Having emerged as a hot prospect for the future with the Egypt U-23 side, El-Shennawi caught the eyes of Zamalek who eventually signed the keeper from Masry in 2014.
