Former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair expressed on Tuesday his appreciations towards the efforts exerted by Al-Azhar World Center for monitoring and electronic Fatwa (Advisory Opinion) in the face of extremist thought and correcting the misconceptions among young people around the world.
Moreover, Blair stressed that the efforts exerted by the Al-Azhar fatwa global center is not only important to Egypt but to the whole world as well.
He also expressed his keenness to strengthen cooperation between Al-Azhar Al-Sharif and Tony Blair Faith Foundation in the face of extremist ideas and to educate young people about the danger of violence.
Noteworthy, Former UK prime minister Tony Blair arrived in Cairo on Tuesday for a two-day visit to discuss the latest regional situation.
During his visit, Blair will meet a number of Egyptian senior officials to discuss latest developments in the Middle East region especially in Syria, Yemen, Libya and Iraq, in addition to ways to fight against terror organizations.
Tony Blair was appointed as the head of the European Council on Tolerance and Reconciliation, a non-governmental organization founded in 2008 that campaigns against religious and political extremism in Europe.
